The sacred ritual of Koil
Alwar Thirumanjanam will be observed with great devotion at the Sri
Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tiruchanur, on April 28, 2026. This
purification ceremony is performed as a spiritual prelude to the annual
Vasanthotsavams, scheduled from April 30 to May 2, 2026.
Ritual Schedule
- Suprabhatam
– Early morning prayers to awaken the Goddess.
- Purification Ceremony (6:00 AM – 9:00
AM) – Temple premises, sanctum, and puja materials
are thoroughly cleansed with sacred herbs and water.
- Darshan for Devotees (from 9:30 AM
onwards) – Devotees may have darshan of
Goddess Padmavathi after the completion of rituals.
Note:
On April 28, Kalyanotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva will
remain cancelled due to the purification ceremony.
Significance
Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam
is a deeply symbolic ritual in which the temple is cleansed to welcome the
Goddess into a sanctified environment. It represents the removal of impurities
and the renewal of spiritual energy, ensuring devotees experience divine grace
during the upcoming Vasanthotsavams.
