Sri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana 2026 – Dates, Rituals & Significance
Sri Raghavendra Swamy,
born as Venkatanatha (Venkata Ramana) in 1595 at Buvanagiri (Tamil
Nadu), was hailed as the incarnation of Prahlada, the great devotee of
Lord Vishnu. Known for his piety, scholarship, and bhakti, he served the world
and the Lord throughout his life.
In 1671, on Dwitiya
of Krishna Paksha, Shravana month, he attained Jeeva Samadhi at Mantralayam,
where his Brindavana (samadhi shrine) continues to inspire millions of
devotees. The day of his Samadhi is commemorated as Sri Raghavendra Swamy
Aradhana across the world.

Significance of Aradhana
- Purvaradhana (Day 1):

Considered the most auspicious, with elaborate rituals and Rathotsavam.
- Uttara Aradhana (Day 3):
Culmination of the celebrations with Maharathotsavam.
- Devotees believe that participating
in Aradhana grants blessings of peace, prosperity, and spiritual
upliftment.

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad (approx. 250 km).
- Alternative:
Bengaluru International Airport (approx. 370 km).
- From either airport, devotees can
hire taxis or take trains/buses to Mantralayam.
By Train
- Mantralayam Road Railway Station
(MTU): Located about 16 km from the temple.
- Well connected to major cities like
Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Mumbai.
- Auto-rickshaws, taxis, and buses are
available from the station to the temple.
By Road
- Mantralayam is accessible via NH 44
and state highways.
- Regular APSRTC buses operate from
Hyderabad, Kurnool, Raichur, and Bengaluru.
- Private taxis and tourist buses are
also available during Aradhana.
Devotee Tips
- Accommodation:
Book lodges or mutt guesthouses in advance; rooms fill quickly during
Aradhana.
- Best Travel Option:
Trains are the most convenient, as Mantralayam Road station is close to
the temple.
