Sri Ramanuja Jayanti

Nakshatra, to honor the birth of Sri Ramanuja, one of the most
influential acharyas of Hindu philosophy. Born in Sriperumbudur in 1017,
Ramanuja is revered as the foremost proponent of Sri Vaishnavism,
inspiring generations with his teachings on devotion, equality, and spiritual
discipline.
Life and Philosophy

Ramanuja was the nephew of the venerable Peria Tirumala Nambi, a
great Ramayana scholar.
- Philosophy:
While rooted in Vedanta, he emphasized Bhakti Yoga, teaching that
devotion (bhakti) is superior to mere meditation.

He boldly opposed caste discrimination, opening the doors of devotion to
all, including those considered untouchables.
