The sacred Ugadi
Asthanam will be observed on March 19 at the Sri Govindaraja
Swamy Temple, Tirupati, marking the beginning of the Sri Parabhava Nama
Samvatsaram.
Ugadi Asthanam – March 19
- Morning Rituals:
- Suprabhatam (awakening of the Lord)
- Thomala Seva (floral offering)
- Koluvu (royal court ritual)
- Panchanga Sravanam (reading of the
almanac)
- Archana (chanting of divine names)
- Evening Rituals (4:30 pm – 6:00 pm):
- Panchanga Sravanam
- Ugadi Asthanam at the temple court
Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam
– March 16
As part of Ugadi
preparations, Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam will be performed:
- Time:
7:00 am – 9:00 am
- Rituals:
- Suprabhatam, Thomala Seva, Koluvu,
Panchanga Sravanam
- Temple cleansing with water
- Sprinkling of sacred fragrant
mixture made of Namakkoppu, Srichurnam, Kasturi turmeric, Pachhaaku,
camphor, sandalwood powder, kumkum, and kitchili root across the
sanctum and premises.
- Darshan: Devotees allowed from 9:30 am onwards after completion of the ritual.
