Sri Pattabhirama Swamy Temple Valmikipuram – Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam 2026
The sacred Koil Alwar
Thirumanjanam will be performed on March 17 at the Sri
Pattabhirama Swamy Temple, Valmikipuram, following traditional Agama
practices. This ritual precedes the temple’s annual Brahmotsavams,
scheduled from March 24 to April 2, and symbolizes purification and
preparation for the grand festivities.
Ritual Highlights – March
17
- Suprabhatam:
Lord awakened with devotional hymns.
- Thomala Seva & Sahasranamarchana:
Floral and thousand-name offerings.
- Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam:
- Temple sanctum cleansed.
- Fragrant mixture of turmeric,
kumkum, sandalwood, camphor, kacholam, kasturi turmeric, and other
aromatic herbs sprinkled across walls and floors.
- Marks spiritual purification before
Brahmotsavams.
Ankurarpanam – March 23
(6 pm – 9 pm)
As part of Brahmotsavam
preparations:
- Senadhipati Utsavam
– ceremonial honoring of the commander deity.
- Medini Puja
– worship of Mother Earth.
- Mrutsangrahanam
– collection of sacred soil for rituals.
- Other preparatory rites to invoke
divine blessings for the festival.

The Brahmotsavams will feature daily utsavams, processions, and special sevas, celebrating Lord Pattabhirama Swamy’s glory with grandeur and devotion.
