Important Temples of Lord Venkateswara Swamy with Historical Significance

Venkateswara Swamy Temple remains the most visited and revered temple in
the world, several other temples across Andhra Pradesh hold immense historical
and spiritual importance, each tied to unique legends and divine episodes.
1. Sri Kalyana
Venkateswara Swamy Temple – Srinivasa Mangapuram
-  Location: Near Tirupati
- Significance:
     After marrying Goddess Padmavathi, Lord Venkateswara stayed here for six
     months, making it a sacred site for newlyweds seeking blessings for
     marital harmony.
2. Sri Kalyana
Venkateswara Swamy Temple – Narayanavanam
- Location:
     Narayanavanam, Chittoor District
- Legend:
     This is the divine venue where Lord Venkateswara married Goddess
     Padmavathi, daughter of King Akasha Raja. The temple commemorates this
     celestial wedding.
3. Sri Prasanna
Venkateswara Swamy Temple – Appalayagunta
- Location:
     Near Tirupati
- Legend:
     On his way to Tirumala, Lord Venkateswara blessed a sage with Abhaya
     Hasta (gesture of protection) here. The temple radiates peace and
     divine assurance.
4. Sri Prasanna
Venkateswara Swamy Temple – Thondamanudu
- Location:
     Near Tirupati
- Legend:
     Lord Venkateswara appeared to Thondamana Chakravarthi, a devout
     king who later built the Tirumala temple. The Lord stayed here in response
     to the king’s wish.
5. Sri Koneti Rayala
Swamy Temple – Keelapatla
- Location:
     Keelapatla, Chittoor District
- Mythology:
     It is believed that Saint Bhrigu kicked Lord Vishnu’s chest, and to
     atone for this act, he was sent to Earth to establish Vishnu’s idols in
     seven sacred places—Keelapatla being one of them.
- Belief: Devotees hold that Lord Venkateswara placed his holy feet first at this site before ascending to Tirumala.
