Significance of Matsya Avatar

The Matsya Avatar holds immense importance . According to the scriptures, Lord Vishnu took the form of a fish to save the sacred Vedas and humanity from the demon Hayagriva, who had stolen them. The Matsya Avatar also guided King Manu, the first man, to preserve life by carrying the seeds of creation and the Saptarishis (seven sages) on a boat during the deluge.

This story symbolizes the protection of knowledge, life, and dharma (righteousness) during times of crisis.

Fasting: Devotees observe a fast starting from the previous night and break it the following day after worshipping Lord Vishnu.
