The Sri Abimukeswarar
Temple, located on the eastern bank of the Mahamaham tank in Kumbakonam,
Thanjavur district, is a revered Shiva temple with a history spanning over 1000
years. Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Abimukeswarar, and Goddess
Parvati as Amrithavalli.
