Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam
will be observed on May 18, 2026, at the historic Sri Govindaraja
Swamy Temple, Tirupati, in connection with the annual Brahmotsavams
commencing from May 23.
Significance of the
Ritual
Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam
is a sacred temple cleansing ceremony performed before major festivals. It
symbolizes purification of the temple premises and spiritual renewal for
devotees. The ritual ensures that the temple is sanctified ahead of the grand
Brahmotsavams.
Rituals & Schedule
- Suprabhatham, Thomala Seva, Koluvu
& Panchanga Sravanam – Early morning
rituals to awaken and honor the deity.
- Temple Cleansing (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM)
– The sanctum, walls, floors, and puja articles are purified. Sacred
scented water mixed with traditional ingredients is sprinkled throughout
the temple.
- Sarvadarshan (from 9:30 AM onwards)
– Devotees are allowed darshan of Lord Govindaraja after the completion of
the cleansing ceremony.
