Location & Importance
The Khajrana Ganesha
Temple is one of the most revered Hindu shrines in Indore, Madhya
Pradesh. Citizens of Indore and nearby cities hold immense faith in this
temple, believing that Lord Ganesha fulfills the wishes of devotees who worship
here.
History & Origin
- Built in 1735 by Rani
Ahilyabai Holkar, the brave Maratha queen.
- To safeguard the idol from Aurangzeb’s
destruction, it was hidden in a well and later retrieved by Ahilyabai
Holkar.
- Initially a small hut, the temple has
grown into a magnificent shrine, becoming one of the most famous Ganesha
temples in India.
