The Lepakshi Temple,
located in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, is a 16th-century
architectural marvel and one of the oldest historical temples in South India.
Famous for its exquisite Vijayanagara-style sculptures, murals, and the
legendary hanging pillar, Lepakshi is both a spiritual and cultural
treasure.
Every year, the temple
becomes a hub of devotion during the Mahashivaratri Utsavams, attracting
thousands of devotees. In 2026, the celebrations will begin on February 14
and span five days of rituals, homams, and grand processions.
