Dhanurmasa Muthangi Alankaram & Neerattotsavam 2026 – Sri Govindarajaswamy Temple Tirupati
On the auspicious
occasion of Dhanurmasa, Sri Govindaraja Swamy at the sacred Sri
Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati was adorned with the exquisite Pearl
(Muthangi) Alankaram to the Mula Virat. Devotees who had darshan of the
Lord in this resplendent attire were left deeply mesmerized and spiritually
elevated.
As per tradition, during
Dhanurmasa every year, Sri Govindaraja Swamy blesses devotees in Muthangi
Alankaram for an entire month. This year, devotees can have darshan of the
deity in this special alankaram until January 17.
Adding to the festive
grandeur, the Neerattotsavam is being conducted at the Sri Andal
Ammavari Temple, which is attached to the Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, from January
6. On Monday, Sri Andal Ammavaru proceeded in a ceremonial procession to
the ancient Ammavari Temple located on Akuthota Street, Tirupati, where
special poojas were performed.
Responding to the heartfelt wishes of devotees, TTD has revived this traditional event after a gap of 15 years, bringing joy and devotion to the community once again.
