NRI Darshan Guidelines
- Eligibility:
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Foreign Nationals, and OCI cardholders are
eligible.
- Documents Required:
- Valid foreign passport (mandatory)
- OCI card or equivalent proof (if
applicable)
- Entry Point:
Dedicated NRI entry gates at Tirumala temple.
- Booking:
- No advance online booking for NRI
darshan.
- Tickets issued only at Tirumala
itself (walk-in basis).
- Quota:
Limited daily quota, so early arrival is recommended.
Darshan Price
- Special Entry Darshan (SED):
₹300 per person.
- Children below 12 years usually
exempt from ticket charges (carry age proof).
Approximate Darshan Time
- Normal Days:
1–2 hours.
- Festival/Peak Days:
2–3 hours or more.
- Faster compared to general darshan
which can take 6–8 hours.
Practical Tips
- Arrive Early:
Morning slots are less crowded.
- Carry Originals:
Passport/OCI card must be shown at the counter and entry gate.
- Dress Code:
Traditional attire preferred (dhoti/saree). Shorts or western casuals may
be denied entry.
- Plan Around Festivals:
Avoid Brahmotsavam, Vaikunta Ekadasi, or long weekends if you want shorter
queues.
- Combine with Sevas:
NRIs can also book priority sevas (like Suprabhata Seva, Thomala Seva)
using their passport for streamlined access.
- Stay Nearby:
Book accommodation in advance at Tirumala or Tirupati, as rooms fill
quickly during peak seasons.
- Transport: TTD buses and jeeps are available from Tirupati to Tirumala; private taxis can be booked from Chennai/Bangalore.
