held between 7:45 AM and 8:10 AM on September 17.
The
rituals leading up to the consecration have already begun. The Yagasala
rituals started on September 11 and will continue until September 16.
During
these days, regular darshan inside the sanctum will be restricted. Devotees
will be allowed to have darshan from the outer areas of the temple.

Arrangements for Devotees

arrangements have been made to avoid overcrowding inside the temple complex on
the day of the Maha Kumbhabhishekam.
Entry
passes for witnessing the main ceremony will be issued through a lottery
system. Around 2,000 passes have been earmarked for the public

screens have been installed at major public locations, including Periyar Bus
Stand and Mattuthavani Integrated Bus Stand, so that devotees can watch the
important rituals without having to enter the crowded temple complex.
This
arrangement is expected to help a large number of devotees participate in the
celebrations from outside the temple.
Security
and Crowd Control Arrangements
Considering
the large number of devotees expected for the event, extensive security and
monitoring arrangements have been put in place.
More
than 200 facial recognition and CCTV cameras have been installed to
monitor the movement of devotees. Round-the-clock control rooms will also be
used to keep track of the crowd and respond to any issues.
Around
6,000 staff members have been deployed for the event. Arrangements have
also been made for parking around 8,000 vehicles.
Drinking
Water and Temporary Toilets
The
authorities have also arranged basic facilities for devotees visiting Madurai
for the Maha Kumbhabhishekam.
Temporary
toilets have been provided at different locations, while special drinking water
arrangements have also been made. For the first time, pipes have been laid to
provide drinking water to devotees during the event.
These
facilities are intended to make the pilgrimage more comfortable for the large
number of people expected to attend the celebrations.
