Sirimanotsavam
is a revered annual festival held at the Pydhitalli Amma Temple in Vizianagaram,
Andhra Pradesh. Deeply rooted in tradition and devotion, this unique

Meaning &
Significance
- Siri
     means Goddess Lakshmi, symbolizing prosperity.
- Manu
     refers to a trunk or log, which becomes the sacred Sirimanu used in
     the procession.
- The festival is celebrated on the first
     Tuesday after Vijayadasami, typically falling in September or
     October during the Dasara Navaratri season.
Divine Revelation
It is believed that 15
days before the festival, Goddess Pydhitalli Ammavaru appears in the dream
of the temple priest, revealing the location of the sacred Sirimanu for
that year. This mystical tradition adds a spiritual depth to the celebration.
