Tirumala
to Witness Two Garuda Sevas in August 2026
Devotees
visiting Tirumala in August are in for a special spiritual treat, as two
Garuda Sevas will be held during the month. The first Garuda Seva will be
conducted on the occasion of Garuda Panchami on August 17, while the
second will be held on Sravana Pournami on August 28.
Both
processions will feature Sri Malayappa Swamy on His favourite Garuda
Vahanam, offering devotees the opportunity to witness the Lord's celestial
procession through the four Mada streets.
Garuda
Panchami Garuda Seva on August 17
As
part of the Garuda Panchami celebrations, Garuda Vahana Seva will be
observed at Tirumala on Monday, August 17, 2026.
On
this auspicious occasion, Sri Malayappa Swamy, along with His consorts,
will take a celestial procession on the majestic Garuda Vahanam.
The
procession will be conducted along the four Mada streets of Tirumala between
7 PM and 9 PM.
Thousands
of devotees are expected to gather along the Mada streets to witness the divine
procession and seek the blessings of Sri Malayappa Swamy.
Garuda
is the sacred vehicle of Lord Vishnu and holds a special place in Vaishnava
tradition. The appearance of Sri Malayappa Swamy on Garuda Vahanam is therefore
considered particularly auspicious.
Sravana
Pournami Garuda Seva on August 28
The
second Garuda Seva of the month will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026,
on the occasion of Sravana Pournami.
Sri
Malayappa Swamy will again bless devotees on His favourite Garuda Vahanam
between 7 PM and 9 PM.
Devotees
will once again get an opportunity to have darshan of the Lord as He proceeds
through the four Mada streets of Tirumala.
Trial-Run
Garuda Seva Also on August 28
A
special feature of August 28 is that the Trial-Run Garuda Seva for the
upcoming annual Srivari Brahmotsavams will also be conducted on the same day.
The
annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams are scheduled to be held at
Tirumala from September 15 to 23, 2026.
As
part of the preparations for the grand annual festival, TTD conducts a Trial
Run Garuda Seva every year ahead of the Brahmotsavams.
The
trial run helps the authorities assess the arrangements and ensure that the
major Garuda Vahana procession during the Brahmotsavams can be conducted
smoothly.
TTD
to Inspect Arrangements
During
the Trial Run Garuda Seva, TTD senior officials will inspect the
arrangements being made for devotees along the four Mada streets.
Officials
will also review various engineering arrangements and other facilities
required for the upcoming annual Brahmotsavams.
The
inspection is aimed at ensuring that all necessary arrangements are completed
well in advance of the September festival.
Two
Garuda Sevas in a Single Month
With
Garuda Sevas scheduled on August 17 and August 28, devotees will have
two opportunities in the same month to witness Sri Malayappa Swamy riding His
favourite Garuda Vahanam.

Brahmotsavams 2026
The
Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams will be celebrated at Tirumala from September
15 to 23, 2026.
The
Garuda Vahana Seva is one of the most important and eagerly awaited events
during the Brahmotsavams, attracting huge numbers of devotees.
The
Trial Run conducted on August 28 will provide TTD officials with an opportunity
to assess crowd-management measures, engineering arrangements and other
facilities before the commencement of the annual Brahmotsavams.
Conclusion
August
2026 will be a spiritually significant month for devotees of Lord Venkateswara,
with two Garuda Sevas scheduled at Tirumala.
The
first will be held on August 17 for Garuda Panchami, followed by another
Garuda Seva on August 28 on the occasion of Sravana Pournami. The August
