The annual Sri Periyalwar Utsavam will be observed with great devotion and religious fervour from June 16 to June 25, 2026 at the Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple, which is attached to the famous Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati.
Rituals &
Celebrations
- Daily Recitations:
HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamy and HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, along with their
disciples, will recite Divya Prabandham Pasurams every morning and
evening before Sri Periyalwar.
- June 25 Morning:
Tirumanjanam (holy bath) will be performed to Sri Periyalwar.
- June 25 Evening:
A grand procession will take place through the four Mada Streets,
with Sri Govindaraja Swamy on Garuda Vahanam and Sri Periyalwar
on Gaja Vahanam, blessing devotees.
About Sri Periyalwar
Sri Periyalwar is revered
as one of the greatest devotees of Lord Mahavishnu and is celebrated as the father
of Sri Andal, the only female Alwar saint. His hymns in the Divya
Prabandham are treasured for their deep devotion and poetic beauty.
