What is Hastodaka (Annasantarpana)?

  • A sacred ritual of offering food (bhojana) to Brahmins in honor of the Yatigalu.
  • Unlike traditional Shraddha, no panda pradhana (offering of pindas) is performed.
  • Shraddha rituals are not observed on this day in the usual form.

Who Performs It?

  • Only Yatiputras—those who have received Shastra Runa or Grantha Runa (spiritual debt through teachings) from Yatigalu—are eligible to perform this ritual.
