Magh Mela 2026 Prayagraj – Bathing Dates, Rituals
Magh Mela
is an auspicious annual Hindu ritual celebrated in the sacred month of Magh
(January–February), as per the Hindu calendar. Often referred to as the Mini
Kumbh Mela, this grand spiritual gathering takes place at the Triveni
Sangam in Prayagraj (Allahabad)—the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna,
and the mystical Saraswati rivers.
Spiritual Significance
It is believed that
taking a holy dip at the Sangam on the auspicious bathing days during
Magh Mela cleanses one of sins and leads to Moksha (liberation).
Devotees, saints, and pilgrims from across India gather to perform rituals,
observe Kalpavas, and immerse themselves in spiritual practices.
Cultural Celebrations
The Mela is not just a
spiritual retreat—it’s a vibrant cultural festival:
- Bhajans,
     folk music, and dance performances
- Dramatic portrayals
     from Hindu epics and Puranas
- Free food and accommodation
offered by organizers for Sadhus and pilgrims
