Srisailam Dasara Utsavam 2025 – Navadurga Alankaram & Vahana Sevas

 

Srisailam, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples and a revered Astha Dasha Shakti Peetham, celebrates Dasara with grandeur and devotion. During this festival, Goddess Bhramaramba Devi is adorned in Navadurga Alankarams, and daily Vahana Sevas are performed to honor Her divine forms.

By Air

  • Nearest Airport: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad (approx. 200–216 km)
  • From the airport, hire a taxi or take APSRTC buses to Srisailam via NH 765

By Train

  • Nearest Stations:
    • Markapur Road – 85 km
    • Cumbum – 102 km
    • Nandyal – 158 km
  • From these stations, taxis or buses are available to reach the temple

By Road

  • From Hyderabad: APSRTC runs daily buses from MGBS and other hubs. Travel time: ~5–6 hours
  • Self-Drive: Scenic route via NH 765 through Nallamala forest—ideal for nature lovers

  • Best Time to Arrive: Reach by early morning to witness alankaram and Vahana Seva preparations

  • Local Transport: Auto-rickshaws and shared jeeps available for nearby spots like Pathala Ganga, Sakshi Ganapathi, and Akka Mahadevi Caves
