Alwar Tirumanjanam on Tuesday, March 17, in connection with the Ugadi
Asthanam scheduled for March 19.
What is Koil Alwar
Tirumanjanam?
Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam
is a temple cleansing ritual performed to purify the sanctum and
surroundings. A special herbal mixture is used to cleanse the temple walls,
floors, and mandapams, symbolizing both physical and spiritual purification.
It is customary to
perform this ritual on the Tuesday preceding major festivals such as:
- Ugadi Asthanam
- Anivara Asthanam
- Annual Brahmotsavam
- Vaikuntha Ekadasi
VIP Darshan Updates
In view of Koil Alwar
Tirumanjanam, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced
changes to darshan schedules:
- March 17:
- VIP Break Darshan cancelled
- Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana Seva
cancelled
- Recommendation letters for VIP Break
Darshan on March 16 will not be accepted (except for protocol
dignitaries).
- March 19 (Ugadi Asthanam):
- VIP Break Darshan cancelled
(except for protocol dignitaries).
- Recommendation letters for March
18 will not be accepted.
